BGCGS 2025 Summer Mountain Bike Program

We’re excited to offer this expanded summer program for intermediate and advanced riders ready to level up their skills and take on more challenging trails! Over the course of four lessons in July and August, youth will continue building confidence through hands-on instruction, exciting trail rides, and skill-based games in a supportive and safe environment.

This program is led by the incredible team from Shasta Gravity Adventures, featuring professional BICP-certified coaches who specialize in creating fun, skill-appropriate learning experiences for every rider.

Who Can Join:

Open to youth currently enrolled in TK–8th grade ( based on 24/25 Academic year) Intermediate or Advanced riding experience.

Advanced Riders – Fridays
July 11, July 25, August 1, August 8

Location:
Shastice Park & Gateway Trails
Program Meeting Spot: Shastice Park – 800 Rockfellow Drive, Mount Shasta, CA

Coaching:
Lessons will be led by Shasta Gravity with professional BICP-certified coaches. The coach-to-rider ratio is 1:5. Riders will always be supervised by a head coach and assistant coach, with one leading and one at the rear of the group.

Skills Covered:

Intermediate Riders:
Should be able to confidently navigate Green Circle and Blue Square trails, ride singletrack with control, and maintain riding for 30+ minutes. Recent participants in the Spring Beginner Program who meet these criteria are encouraged to join!

Example Intermediate Trails:

  • Ten Gallon
  • Upper/Lower Bear Springs
  • Muir’s Ascension
  • Foundation

Advanced Riders:
Should demonstrate confident cornering, obstacle technique, and control on steep descents. Riders should be comfortable on Blue Square and Black Diamond terrain and able to complete challenging features like jumps, drops, and rock gardens.

Example Advanced Trails:

  • Steam Donkey
  • Lemurian Delirium (Rated Blue Square but best suited for advanced riders due to jumps and features)

What’s Included:

✔ Mountain bike lessons with certified coaches

✔ Use of mountain bikes and helmets during the program (if needed)

✔ Transportation for BGCGS members

Pricing:

  • BGCGS after-school Program Member: $150
  • Non-Member: $250

Transportation:

BGCGS Members:
Club members will be picked up from the Sisson Club Site at 8:45 AM, shuttled to Shastice Park, and returned to the Club by 12:00 PM.

Non-Club Participants:
Please arrive at Shastice Park by 8:50 AM and plan to pick up your rider by 11:50 AM.

We are very excited to be offering this special program. In order to make this program a success, we are needing a commitment from you and your child to participate in our full 4-week program. Spots are limited. The program is subject to cancellation if minimum membership requirement set by Shasta Gravity are not met.

Registration will not be complete until the registration form and payment have been received.
